On May 11, 2023, General Secretary Xi Jinping personally went to Huanghua Port Coal Port Area in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province for a field visit, and deeply understood the production and operation status of the port area and its future development plan. He emphasized that Huanghua Port, as an important hub for coal transportation in China, plays a crucial role, especially in promoting the transportation of coal from the west to the east and from the north to the south. Therefore, we must further strengthen the capacity building of ports, continuously innovate management systems and mechanisms, and strive to build them into a large port that integrates multifunctionality, comprehensiveness, and modernization, in order to better serve the overall economic and social development of the country.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has investigated for nearly a year, and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry has continued to plough into Huanghua Port, undertaking remote centralized control and automation transformation of two ship unloaders in the port, as well as design, production and construction, delivery and after-sales of six automated quayside bridges and nine automated rail cranes, constantly improving the efficiency of unloading capacity of Huanghua Port, and helping Huanghua Port to build a modern comprehensive service port and international trade port.

On March 13, 2024, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry completed and passed the acceptance of the remote control and automation renovation project for two ship unloaders developed for the port.

On April 21, 2024, Zhenhua 12 wheeled vehicle carrying 4 automated rail cranes slowly departed from Nantong Branch and headed to the container terminal of Huanghua Port Comprehensive Port Area to complete the first batch of equipment shipment for the automation project.

The track crane of this project has a span of 33 meters, a lifting height of 18.1 meters, and a rated load of 41 tons under the lifting equipment. It has automatic, semi-automatic, and manual operation functions. After the equipment arrives at the shore, it will be unloaded and delivered by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry North China Regional Center. Huanghua Port is located on the magnificent coast of Bohai Sea. It is not only a key member of the Tianjin Hebei and Bohai Rim Port Group, but also one of the 27 major coastal ports in China. It has become a shining pearl in the Bohai Rim port group with its strong development potential and a deep-water port status of billions of tons. At the same time, it is also China's leading energy port and can be regarded as the bridgehead of the new Eurasian continental bridge channel. Previously, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry had provided abundant equipment support to Huanghua Port, including 6 shore cranes, 12 track cranes, 2 electric tire cranes, 3 ship loaders, 6 ship unloaders, and 3 stackers. The investment in these equipment has greatly promoted the construction process of Huanghua Port and injected strong impetus into its development.
