China Railway International Co., Ltd. revealed that at 14:30 local time on April 25th, at the construction site of Bachkatopola Station on the Hun Serbia Railway from Novisad to Subotica to the border between Hungary and Serbia (hereinafter referred to as the "Hun Serbia Railway Nosu Section"), with the smooth laying of the last set of steel rails, the Nosu section of the Hun Serbia Railway achieved track laying and connection. On the same day, during the dynamic testing of the line between Novi Sad and Vilbas, the goal of detecting trains running at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour was achieved, and all performance indicators performed well. The newly built line successfully passed the testing of third-party European organizations, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality opening and operation of the Novi Sus section of the Hungarian Serbian railway this year.

Beijing China Net reported that according to the relevant person in charge of China Railway International Co., Ltd., the Nuosu section of the Hungary Serbia railway starts from Novisad Station in Serbia, passes through Vilbas Station, Bachkatopola Station, and Subotica Station, and ends at the border between Serbia and Hungary. The total length of the line is 108.1 kilometers, and the EPC project is implemented by a Chinese joint venture led by China Railway International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. The track laying will start on April 6, 2023.

Enterprises and builders from China and Serbia have worked closely together to overcome difficulties such as complex construction environments and tight schedules. They have fully adopted advanced Chinese rail laying equipment and welding processes, and have cumulatively used 176.2 kilometers of steel rails produced by Chinese companies. They have optimized on-site construction organization, strengthened safety and quality control, and focused on ecological and environmental protection, ensuring the orderly and efficient progress of rail laying tasks. At present, the construction of the Nuosu section of the Hungary Serbia Railway is progressing smoothly, and the overall project progress has been completed by more than 80%.

Among them, the Novi Sad to Vilbas section project has been basically completed, the overhead contact system has been successfully powered, the track has been finely tuned, and it has successfully passed the dynamic testing of the European third-party testing agency's line, achieving the target of detecting trains running at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. All performance indicators have performed well, laying a solid foundation for ensuring the full operation of the Serbia section of the Hungary Serbia Railway within this year.

The person in charge introduced that the Hungarian Cypriot railway, which connects Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is the flagship project of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" between China and Central and Eastern European countries, and is also the first project of the docking of Chinese railway technology and equipment with the EU railway interconnection technical specifications. The total length of the line is 341.7 kilometers, including 183.1 kilometers within Serbia, with a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour. The section from Belgrade to Novisad was opened for operation on March 19, 2022, and has sent over 7 million passengers in the past two years, providing high-quality transportation services for the Serbian people. After the completion and operation of the entire Serbia section of the Hungary Serbia Railway, the travel time from the Serbian capital Belgrade to the border city of Subotica will be significantly reduced, greatly improving Serbia's infrastructure level, improving local transportation conditions, facilitating people's travel along the line, optimizing investment environment, promoting economic and social development, and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between Central and Eastern Europe, building an international trade channel between China and Europe, which is of great significance.Eitor/XuNing
