Gansu's installed power supply exceeded 90 million kilowatts, and new energy accounted for more than 60%. On May 9, it was learned from the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company that as of the end of April this year, the total installed power capacity of Gansu Province exceeded 90 million kilowatts, reaching 90.56 million kilowatts. Among all the installed power sources, the total installed capacity of new energy was 55.83 million kilowatts, accounting for 61.65%, reaching a new high.
Wang Haitao, director of the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company and deputy secretary of the Party Committee, introduced that in the past two years, the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company has ensured the stable development of conventional power supplies while serving the rapid growth of new energy installed capacity. Compared with the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan", the installed capacity of new energy in Gansu increased by 32.14 million kilowatts, of which only in 2023 the new grid-connected capacity reached 16.655 million kilowatts, 2.68 times and 3.19 times that of 2021 and 2022, respectively, hitting a record high, and the installed capacity of new energy and power generation achieved double growth.

Data show that in 2023, Gansu new energy generation of nearly 70 billion KWH, an increase of nearly 30%, equivalent to saving more than 8.54 million tons of standard coal. In the first four months of this year, Gansu's new energy generation reached 25.2 billion KWH, up about 22 percent year-on-year.
As the "general hub" of the Northwest power Grid and the "main channel" of west-east power transmission, Gansu actively coordinates the power transmission and consumption within the province. Up to now, Gansu power has been sent to 25 provinces and cities, and the circle of friends of "Gansu Green electricity" has continued to expand. Long power into Shandong project is stepping up construction, long power into Zhejiang, long power into Sichuan and other work is steadily advancing. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
