According to the news of China Railway International Co., LTD., the Nosu section of the Hungaria-Serbia Railway will be laid through on April 25, 2024.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Railway International Co., LTD., the Nosu section of the Hungaria-Serbia Railway starts from Novi Sad Station in Serbia and ends at the border of Serbia and Hungary, with a total length of 108.1 kilometers, and the track will be laid on April 6, 2023. At present, the construction of the Nosu section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway is progressing smoothly, and more than 80% of the overall project progress has been completed.

The Hungary-Serbia Railway is a landmark project under the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Central and Eastern European countries. It is also the first project to align China's railway technology and equipment with the EU's technical specifications for railway connectivity. The Hungary-Serbia railway is nearly 350 kilometers long, connecting Belgrade and the Hungarian capital Budapest, of which 183 kilometers are in Serbia.

After the completion of the railway, the travel time between the capitals of Hungary and Serbia will be reduced from eight hours to three hours, which will greatly improve the travel conditions of residents along the route, promote economic and social development, strengthen connectivity between Hungary and Serbia, and expand economic and trade cooperation and exchanges. This is of great significance to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Europe and promoting the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of Europe.
