Recently, it was learned that the accumulated exported electricity of the UHV project in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region exceeded 500 billion KWH, reaching 531.06 billion KWH, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 220 million households for a year, and played an important role in realizing the optimization of resource allocation in a wide range and ensuring national energy security.

Over the years, the State Grid Co., Ltd. has fully implemented the national strategy of "West to east transmission" and "North to south transmission", and the State Grid Inner Mongolia Eastern Power Co., Ltd. has continuously accelerated the construction of UHV projects, and has built seven UHV transmission projects of "four and three direct", forming a "east and west" two wings "and running through the north and south" Mongolian power transmission "channel.

At present, the construction of the 8th UHV Zhangbei - Shengli 1000 kV UHV AC transmission project in Inner Mongolia has entered a period of acceleration, and the Inner Mongolia section of the project has fully carried out the tower formation operation, and the 250 foundation of the tower has been completed. The project will start construction in August 2023 and is scheduled to be put into operation in 2024. After the project is put into operation, it will supply about 70 billion KWH of electricity annually to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and other regions, providing strong support for clean energy delivery in Xilingol League and Zhangjiakou region, and continue to improve the level of green power consumption in parts of North and East China.
