The China Public Diplomacy Association, China Central Radio and Television, and the Chinese Embassy in France jointly hosted the China-France High-Level People-to-People Exchange Forum with the theme of "Working Together for 60 Years, Carrying Forward the Past and Opening up a New Era" in Paris. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Director of China Central Radio and Television, delivered a video speech. Bruno Fox, member of the French National Assembly, Lu Shaye, Chinese Ambassador to France, Bruno, President of the Paris French-Chinese Friendship Association, and Wu Hailong, President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, attended the event and delivered speeches. Dozens of experts, scholars and practitioners from all walks of life in China and France attended the event.

Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Director of China Central Radio and Television, said in his speech that China and France have splendid civilizations, like two shining pearls, shining each other in the long river of human history. In January 2024, Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Macron exchanged congratulatory messages on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and outlined a bright future for China-France relations. In his speech, Shen Haixiong briefly introduced the work achievements and plans of China Central Radio and Television around the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the Paris Olympics, and giant pandas. He expressed China Central Radio and Television's willingness to work with friends from all walks of life in France to look far ahead and write a better future.

Bruno Fox, a member of the French National Assembly, said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 1964 was not only an act of recognition, but also a strong signal of open cooperation between the East and the West in an era of obvious ideological differences. Over the past 60 years, the common history of the two countries has continued to develop and enrich. Today, the partnership between the two countries can and must go further. The reliability, tacit understanding and diversity in the China-France partnership can enable both sides to think more broadly about the future of the world. Against the backdrop of the accelerated evolution of the world's century-old changes, France and China should continue to strengthen cooperation on the existing basis and reach more consensus in the fields of maintaining world peace, addressing climate change, environmental sustainable development, green and clean energy, and artificial intelligence.

Lu Shaye, Chinese Ambassador to France, said that over the past 60 years, no matter how the international situation changes, China-France relations have always been at the forefront of China's relations with Western countries, bringing benefits to the people of the two countries and contributing to the peace, stability and development of the world. Standing at a new historical starting point, China and France must uphold their original aspirations, share responsibilities, enhance mutual trust, and create the future. At the age of 60, I believe that China-France relations will become more mature and resilient when they enter the age of 60, and I believe that the next 60 years of China-France relations will be more brilliant.Editor/Zhang Chun hui
