At 10 a.m. on July 10, 2024, as a key link in the national key energy project, the Qinghai Maerdang Hydropower Station, which was installed by the Seventh Hydropower Bureau, ushered in an important milestone. The rotor of Unit 3 was successfully hoisted, marking that another major technical difficulty in the construction of the power station was successfully overcome.
The outer diameter of the rotor of Unit 3 of Maerdang Hydropower Station is 12.8 meters, the maximum height is 3.1 meters, and the lifting weight is 1,050 tons. During the assembly process, the Seventh Hydropower Bureau, in conjunction with manufacturers, designers, supervisors and other units, through innovative technology and processes, the rotor assembly quality is better than the national standard and factory standard.
Maerdang Hydropower Station, located in Lajia Town, Maqin County, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located at an altitude of 3,300 meters. It is a highly anticipated national and Qinghai dual key energy project. The power station is not only an important support point for the national strategy of sending electricity from west to east and the Qinghai-Henan project, but also carries the heavy responsibility of transporting clean energy to the east.
The total planned installed capacity of the power station is 2.32 million kilowatts. Five mixed-flow turbine generator sets will be installed in its underground powerhouse, including four giant units with a single capacity of 550,000 kilowatts and one unit with a single capacity of 120,000 kilowatts. With its rich experience and excellent technical strength, the Seventh Hydropower Bureau was given the important mission of being fully responsible for the installation of the electromechanical equipment of these five units, ensuring the smooth progress and high-quality completion of the power station construction.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
