On August 12, 2024, Trina Solar and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) of Singapore signed a research cooperation agreement to jointly promote the optimization and upgrading of battery manufacturing technology in the industry and contribute to the green and low-carbon transformation of energy in China, Singapore and the world.
This R&D cooperation will last for 3 years. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the research and development of cutting-edge technologies for energy storage batteries and the implementation of energy industrialization. Relying on the technical advantages of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in the fields of energy, materials, and intelligent manufacturing, the two parties will continue to tackle the core technical problems in the research process of energy storage battery industrialization. The Institute of Materials and Engineering of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR IMRE) of Singapore will use its expertise in materials science and engineering to develop innovative energy storage solutions, focus on developing new materials, and improve battery performance through advanced research methods.
Helena Li, Executive President of Trina Solar, expressed her gratitude to the Singapore government for actively building a new energy and green transformation platform. She said that as an international high-level research institution, A*STAR IMRE has strong strength in new materials and electronics. We are very pleased to work with this cutting-edge team to jointly develop a new generation of energy storage battery technology with an open, inclusive and collaborative innovation mechanism, continuously promote the optimization and upgrading of battery manufacturing technology in the energy storage industry, help the high-quality development of the global energy storage industry, and jointly build a beautiful zero-carbon new world.
Professor Luo Xianjun, Director of the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore, said that this cooperation is an organic combination of IMRE's R&D strength and Trina Solar's energy storage expertise. We aim to make further valuable progress in energy storage technology through joint efforts, apply scientific research results to practical application scenarios in Singapore, and actively promote science and technology and economic development for the benefit of society.
Trina Solar has always taken innovation-led as its first development strategy and core driving force. It has established four major R&D platforms: the Energy Storage Battery Research Institute, the Energy Storage Product Research Institute, the Energy Storage Engineering Technology Center, and the Digital Energy Research Institute. Committed to becoming a global leader in smart energy solutions for photovoltaic storage, Trina Solar adheres to the mission of using solar energy to benefit all mankind. In the future, it will always adhere to independent innovation and collaborative innovation, promote the research and development and application of energy storage technology, lead the high-quality development of the new energy industry, and contribute Trina Solar's strength to building a beautiful zero-carbon new world!Editor/Zhang Liyuan
