At about 8:00 on August 13, 2024, as the 55880 train departed from Chengdu East Station, the joint commissioning and testing of the Zhenjiangguan to Huangshenguan section of the newly built Sichuan Chengdu to Qinghai Xining Railway was successfully completed and officially entered the operational test stage.

The Sichuan-Qinghai Railway starts from Chengdu East Station, passes through Chengdu City in Sichuan Province, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, Haidong City, Xining City, and connects to Xining Station. The total length of the main line is about 836 kilometers, with a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and is a national Class I double-track railway. The Sichuan-Qinghai Railway's sections from Chengdu east to Qingbaijiang East and from Haixi to Xining are on the same line as the Xi'an-Chengdu High-speed Railway and Lanzhou-Xinjiang High-speed Railway respectively and have been put into operation. The section from Qingbaijiang East to Zhenjiangguan has been put into operation on November 28, 2023.

The operation test this time is the section from Zhenjiangguan to Huangshengguan, with a total length of about 70 kilometers and a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour. Three new stations including Songpan, Huanglong Jiuzhai and Huangshengguan will be built. The line started construction in September 2014, and the track laying of the entire line was completed in June 2024. It entered the joint commissioning and joint testing stage on July 21, and entered the operation test stage on August 13.

The Zhenjiangguan to Huangshengguan section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway is an important part of my country's eight-vertical and eight-horizontal high-speed rail network from Lanzhou to Xining to Guangzhou.
