On August 30, 2024, it marks the official start of the construction of Suzhou East Railway Station, a comprehensive development project integrating multiple transportation functions, and its grand blueprint is planned to be unveiled simultaneously with the Tongsu-Jiayong high-speed railway by 2027, which will become the premier underground high-speed rail integrated hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, uniquely integrating high-speed rail, intercity, urban and urban rail transit.

Suzhou East Railway Station, located in the heart of Sangtian Science Island, Wusong Bay Future City, Suzhou Industrial Park, has a vast space of 250,000 square meters with the advanced design of 4 sets and 9 lines, aiming to create a new landmark for the integration of industry and finance in the Yangtze River Delta and the sub-center of southeast Suzhou. The completion of the station will seamlessly connect the Sujiayong high-speed railway, Sudian-Shanghai and Rutong-Suhu intercity railways, and integrate into the network of Suzhou Metro Line 2 and Line 6, while providing diversified travel options such as buses and taxis, and is expected to serve an average daily passenger flow of up to 180,000 passengers.

As a key node in Suzhou's transportation network, Suzhou East Railway Station works side by side with Suzhou North Railway Station, Suzhou Railway Station and Suzhou Park Station to strengthen the carrying capacity of Suzhou's north-south medium and long-distance passenger transport and further optimize the city's external transportation layout.
