On July 1, 2025, with the completion of the last concrete pouring, the Tianliuwan Bridge, the highest bridge of the Chengdu-Chongqing Central High-speed Railway, was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the opening of the whole line on schedule.

The Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway is an important part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network along the river, the line starts from Chongqing hub Chongqing North Station, and goes west through Yubei District, Shapingba District, Bishan District, Tongliang District, Dazu District of Chongqing City, Ziyang City and Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, and introduces Chengdu Hub Chengdu Station, with a total length of 292 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

Tianliuwan Bridge is located in Anyue County, Ziyang City, Sichuan Province, with a total length of 1644.6 meters, built by the Fifth Bureau of China Railway, with 39 piers and 38 box girders designed for the bridge. The continuous rigid beam of Helong has a total length of 337.4 meters, and the structure includes 4 main piers and 2 side piers, of which Pier 21 is 79 meters high, which is the highest pier of the Chengdu-Chongqing Central High-speed Railway, which has the characteristics of high technical standards, difficult construction and high safety risks.

Under the terrain conditions of complex mountains and river ditches, the Tianliuwan Bridge adopts the technology of up-bearing and down-bearing intelligent cantilever bridge-making machines. Through the use of automatic travel system and high-precision sensor control, the construction period of a single section is shortened from 12-15 days to 7-10 days, and the linear deviation control accuracy is controlled within 5 mm.

The person in charge of the Yangtze River Coastal Railway Group Sichuan Co., Ltd. said that in view of the complex terrain of the Tianliuwan Bridge, the construction builders of the Fifth Bureau of China Railway made efforts through the use of intelligent monitoring and full coverage management, safety quality control from the source of the plan, and scientific and efficient construction.

After the completion of the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line high-speed railway, it will be connected with the Xi'an-Chengdu high-speed railway, Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway, Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway, Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou high-speed railway, Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway, Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, Chongqing-Wanzhou high-speed railway, etc., which will promote the improvement of the road network structure in the Chengdu-Chongqing area, further reduce the travel time between Chengdu and Chongqing, and greatly facilitate the travel of the people along the line, and form a new pattern for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle and further promote the development of the western region.
