The important hub of the national high-speed railway network along the Yangtze River, Nanjing North Station, has officially started construction recently, marking another solid step in China's high-speed railway construction. The launch of this project is not only a milestone for the transportation development of Nanjing, but also an important support for the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta region.

As a key node in the national "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed railway network along the Yangtze River, Nanjing North Station plays a crucial role. The project is located in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, at the intersection of the East West Yangtze River Passage and the North South Guangdong Sea Passage. It is one of the "three major main and guest stations" of the Nanjing railway hub and the largest hub passenger station along the North Yangtze River high-speed railway. The construction of Nanjing North Station will further improve Nanjing's "m" - shaped high-speed rail hub network, fill in this important puzzle, and make Nanjing's core position in regional transportation more stable.

The construction scale of Nanjing North Station is grand, with an east-west length of 710 meters and a north-south length of 637 meters. The station building has a total of 6 floors, including 4 above ground floors and 2 underground floors. This design fully considers the travel needs of passengers, and from top to bottom are the elevated waiting layer, the national railway platform layer, the national railway exit layer, the urban corridor layer, the underground first layer, and the underground second layer. As the only railway hub in Nanjing that integrates high-speed, intercity, and conventional railways, Nanjing North Station has the ability to depart in all directions. The station has 3 yards, 16 platforms, and 30 lines, surpassing the scale of Nanjing Station and Nanjing South Station. Among them, the high-speed railway station has 5 platforms and 9 lines, introducing the North Yangtze River high-speed railway; 6 intercity stations with 12 lines, introducing the Ninghuai intercity, Ningchubang intercity, and Shangyuanmen railway river crossing channels; 5 platforms and 9 lines in the conventional speed field will be introduced into the Beijing Shanghai Railway and Ningqi Railway.
