On September 14, 2024, a historic moment arrived as the Meizhou West to Longchuan West section of the Longlong High speed Railway, jointly constructed by China Railway 25th Bureau Third Company and many other units, officially opened for operation. This major event not only marks another brilliant achievement in China's railway construction, but also enables the total length of China's railways to successfully break through the 160000 kilometer mark, with nearly 46000 kilometers of high-speed rail, firmly ranking first in the world, demonstrating the strong strength and enormous potential of China's railway development.

As an important part of the Longyan Longchuan high-speed railway, the Meilong section of the Meilong high-speed railway starts from Meizhou West Station of the Meishan high-speed railway, passes through Meixian District, Xingning City, Wuhua County, and Longchuan County of Heyuan City, and ends at Longchuan West Station of the Ganshen high-speed railway. The total length of the line is about 98 kilometers, with a designed speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour. The construction of this high-speed railway section not only greatly shortens the time and space distance between Meizhou, Longchuan and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, but also injects strong new momentum into the accelerated integration of the revolutionary old areas in eastern Guangdong into the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.

Since the start of construction, the Meilong section of the Meilong high-speed railway has faced many challenges, including complex terrain, geology, and geological conditions. However, under the careful organization of the railway department, all participating units and builders scientifically and orderly promoted the construction of the project, successfully completing key projects such as the Dongjiang Extra Large Bridge and the Hegongtang Tunnel, ensuring that the project was opened on schedule.
