Recently, Hulan Economic Development Zone, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, held a grand ceremony for the commencement of the new energy sodium-ion battery project.
As a major investment with a total budget of up to 3 billion yuan, the project aims to build a complete industrial chain integrating the production of 50,000-ton cathode and anode materials, the manufacturing of 10 GWh sodium-ion batteries and the integration of energy storage systems.
The first phase of the project focuses on the rapid development of a 2 GWh sodium-ion battery production line and the integrated construction of supporting energy storage systems, with an initial investment of RMB 620 million. After the project is fully put into production, BoNa New Energy will be able to fully cover and serve a number of key areas in Northeast China, including but not limited to energy storage needs on the power generation side, energy storage solutions in the industrial and commercial fields, energy supply for vehicles, applications of various backup power supplies and starting power supplies, power guarantee for construction machinery, and power supply for small power equipment, etc., providing one-stop and a full range of sodium-ion battery products and technical services. This measure marks a solid step forward in promoting the optimization and upgrading of regional energy structure and promoting the application of green energy.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
