On September 23, 2024, Sinopec officially released three bidding notices for a major energy project in Ulanqab City through its electronic bidding and trading platform, focusing on key aspects such as safety pre evaluation, environmental impact assessment, and climate feasibility study for a 100000 ton/year wind solar hydrogen integration project.
The highlight of this project lies in its supporting "West East Hydrogen Transmission" hydrogen long-distance pipeline project, which innovatively crosses Inner Mongolia, Hebei to Beijing, marking the birth of China's first cross provincial, large-scale, long-distance pure hydrogen transmission pipeline, directly connecting Inner Mongolia's green hydrogen production base with Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical, aiming to build a green hydrogen energy supply chain.
The initial design of this pipeline has an annual hydrogen transmission capacity of 100000 tons, with reserved space for future expansion up to 500000 tons per year. Multiple reserved ports are set up along the way to flexibly respond to the growing demand of the future hydrogen energy market and the possibility of accessing more hydrogen sources. At present, the overall progress of the project is smooth, indicating that China's hydrogen energy industry infrastructure construction has entered a new stage, which is of great significance for promoting regional energy structure optimization and promoting green and low-carbon development.
