In February 2025, Alat and Lenovo celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of their new manufacturing plant in Riyadh, marking an important milestone in their strategic cooperation.

Factory Overview and Construction Progress

This new factory will be located within the 200000 square meter "Riyadh Integrated" park operated by the Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ). The factory will focus on producing laptops, desktops, and servers made in Saudi Arabia, with an expected annual production capacity of millions of units. The design, construction, and operation of the factory follow high sustainability standards and are committed to achieving environmentally friendly production.

Investment and Strategic Cooperation

This celebration event was held after shareholders and regulatory authorities approved the completion of the transaction, which was officially announced on January 8, 2025, involving a $2 billion investment (through a three-year zero coupon convertible bond). This investment is also a concrete implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement announced in early May 2024. Lenovo will also establish its Middle East and Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh to further expand its influence in the region.

Economic and social benefits

The new manufacturing center has a superior geographical location, only a 15 minute drive from Riyadh International Airport, and is expected to be put into operation in 2026. The factory will create up to 15000 direct jobs and 45000 indirect jobs, injecting strong momentum into Saudi Arabia's sustainable growth and national development. It is estimated that by 2030, the cumulative contribution of the factory to non oil GDP will reach up to $10 billion.

Enet's Technology Department Enhancement Plan

The investment in Lenovo is one of the many investments made by Enet aimed at enhancing the capabilities of its technology department. The company also plans to empower the private sector and improve the business environment through its business system and partnerships with leading international technology manufacturers. Enet is innovating its manufacturing capabilities across nine business units, covering areas such as semiconductors, smart devices, smart buildings, smart appliances, smart health, electrification, advanced industries, next-generation infrastructure, and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The cooperation between Enet and Lenovo this time will not only promote the development of Saudi Arabia's manufacturing industry, but also provide important support for Saudi Arabia's digital transformation and economic growth.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
