On February 18th, as the "Mediterranean Sveva" ship slowly departed from the Dalian Port container terminal, the new direct Mediterranean container shipping route from Dalian Port officially opened for operation. The route directly reaches the main ports of Egypt, Türkiye, Israel and other countries, building a stable and convenient new maritime logistics channel between China's northeast region and Mediterranean coastal countries.
It is reported that the new route is operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company and plans to invest 16 19000 TEU container ships to achieve weekly operations. The sufficient shipping capacity and cabin space, as well as efficient and convenient logistics, will fully meet the import and export needs of chemical products, automobiles and parts, mechanical and electrical equipment, mineral resources and other products between Northeast China and Mediterranean coastal countries, and promote economic and trade cooperation between Northeast China and Mediterranean coastal countries.
As of now, Dalian Port has a total of 106 container shipping routes. Among them, there are 93 foreign trade container routes, connecting more than 300 ports in over 160 countries and regions worldwide. This year, Dalian Port will continue to expand and improve its container shipping network, broaden the import and export channels for goods in the hinterland, enhance its full supply chain service capabilities, continuously improve the level of Dalian's foreign trade container hub port, and assist in the construction of the Northeast Asia International Shipping Center.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
