On March 3, 2025, Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection") and the Osh Municipal Government of Kyrgyzstan officially signed a milestone framework agreement in Changsha, China. The agreement aims to build an advanced waste incineration power plant in Osh city to meet the local demand for clean electricity and heat, and promote the green energy transition in Central Asia.

Project Overview

According to the agreement, this waste incineration power plant is expected to process 2000 metric tons of urban household waste per day and provide stable clean electricity and heat to Osh city by combining green energy and heating systems. The achievement of this cooperation is due to the instructions of Kyrgyzstan's President Sadir Zaparov, as well as the visits of Osh Mayor Zhennishbek Toktolbayev and Deputy Mayor Sonobek Zhunusbaev to China. During the visit, both parties jointly visited the waste treatment facilities of Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection and ultimately signed a framework agreement with its wholly-owned subsidiary Junxin Environmental Protection (Kyrgyzstan) Investment Co., Ltd.

Project Planning

According to the agreement, the first phase of the project will process 2000 metric tons of urban household waste per day, using advanced waste incineration technology to convert it into electricity and heat. In the future, the project will also expand the construction of green energy centers, heating centers, and computing centers. Among them, the computing center plans to utilize green electricity and steam cooling technology to reduce energy consumption and improve resource utilization efficiency.

The transformation demand of the Central Asian waste management market

Kyrgyzstan has long faced problems of garbage disposal and environmental pollution. As the second largest city in the country, Osh's daily garbage production continues to grow, but the local landfill capacity is limited, and environmental protection facilities are relatively lagging behind, putting increasing pressure on urban environmental governance year by year. The introduction of waste incineration power generation technology can not only solve these problems, but also provide sustainable development solutions for the local area.

Chinese enterprises accelerate global layout

Chinese environmental protection companies are actively expanding their overseas markets, especially in developing countries to promote waste management and green energy projects. In addition to the layout in Kyrgyzstan this time, Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection and other Chinese enterprises have successfully carried out garbage disposal and power generation businesses in Vietnam, New Zealand, Thailand, Maldives, Uzbekistan and other countries.

The Osh waste incineration power plant project is not only another important project of Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection in the Central Asian market, but also shows that Chinese environmental protection enterprises are relying on advanced technology and capital advantages to build green energy and waste management systems in countries along the the Belt and Road.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
