From April 21st to 25th, in order to explore advanced models for the consumption of electricity from large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases, Pu Peiwen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Gansu Electric Power Investment Group, led a team to visit Marafiq Red Sea Energy Company in Saudi Arabia to conduct technical exchanges and business negotiations on the Red Sea Integrated Smart Energy Project. Tian Hong, a member of the Group's Party Committee and Deputy General Manager, and relevant personnel accompanied the visit.
The inspection team went deep into the site of the Red Sea Integrated Smart Energy Project, conducted on-site investigations of core projects such as the SF1 Photovoltaic Energy Storage Field and the RO1 Seawater Desalination Plant. They carefully observed the operation of equipment such as inverters and cleaning robots in the photovoltaic power station, and comprehensively understood key links such as off-grid technology and emergency support. At the subsequent technical exchange meeting, the two sides carried out in-depth discussions on project planning and design, operation management, economic benefits and other aspects. They unanimously agreed to strengthen cooperation and deepen the research on the reliability, safety and economy of large-scale off-grid integrated smart energy projects.
As supporting infrastructure for the "Red Sea Project", one of the first batch of major projects under Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030", the Red Sea Integrated Smart Energy Project has its own unique features. The project uses 100% new energy and covers five major sectors including photovoltaic energy storage power generation and seawater desalination, and has established an independent power supply system of "main grid + 3 micro-grids". With energy production and supply as the main line, the project realizes the coordinated operation of multiple energies such as "electricity, water and cooling", and achieves the optimization of the entire chain of "source - grid - load - storage - consumption". It can be regarded as a model of global off-grid integrated smart energy projects, and in terms of scale, it also ranks among the world's largest off-grid energy storage projects.
