On April 15, the Governor of the Aktobe Region of Kazakhstan, Ashaat Shakharov, led a delegation to visit China, and reached important investment cooperation with China in the fields of green energy, metallurgy, industrial production and building materials.

In Beijing, the two sides signed four memorandums of understanding on cooperation. The head of Kromtau County, Nurhan Treumuratov, signed agreements with Sunshine New Energy Development Co., Ltd. and Huantai Energy Co., Ltd., respectively, with a total investment of 218.8 million US dollars.

Among them, the project signed with Sunshine New Energy Development Company involves the construction of a 200 megawatt wind power plant with an investment of 171 million US dollars, which is scheduled to start in 2025 and be fully operational in 2027. Another agreement with Huantai Energy calls for the construction of a US$47.8 million wind farm worth US$47.8 million, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2025 and will create 65 new jobs in the process.

The two projects will strengthen the region's renewable energy capacity and help ease the pressure on power supply.

In addition, Dalhan Yermagabetov, Governor of Muhalzar County, signed a memorandum of understanding with 1MDB Machinery Co., Ltd. for the construction of a medium-carbon alloy steel plant, which will promote import substitution and localized production of equipment for machinery manufacturing and industrial fields, and is expected to create 60 new jobs.

The fourth MoU, signed by the Deputy Governor of Aktobe Region, Abdhal Abdikarimov, and the China Nonferrous Metals Mining Company and Kazakhstan's SM Minerals Corporation for the development of a large-scale mining project for the Kukala copper deposit in Ayitekbi County, is expected to significantly increase mining capacity in the region.

Futhermore, a framework agreement was signed in Xi'an for AqtobeCem Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Sinoma Construction Co., Ltd. to build a 5,000 tonnes per day clinker cement plant in Alha District, and the project construction schedule has been determined. The above-mentioned cooperation further demonstrates the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China and brings new opportunities for the economic development of Aktobe Oblast.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
