The 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Summit and Exhibition was successfully concluded on the 12th in Macau. According to the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, 31 cooperation agreements were reached at the Forum, with a total signing amount exceeding US$10 billion.
The three-day International Infrastructure Forum was very fruitful. The signed agreements cover a wide range of fields such as transportation, construction, electricity, water conservancy and new energy, and the projects are distributed in 22 countries and regions around the world. It is worth noting that about one-third of the projects have the participation of Portuguese-speaking countries or Macao enterprises. More than 200 business negotiations were organized during the Forum, and more than 70 negotiations involved Macao and Hengqin enterprises, representing an increase of more than 30% compared with the previous session.
At the summary press conference held in the afternoon of June 12, Mr. Fang Qiuchen, President of China National Chamber of Foreign Contractors (CNCC), elaborated on the four major achievements of the Forum: First, the panoramic display of the development trend and cooperation achievements of the global infrastructure connectivity; second, the release of professional and authoritative information, guiding the industry to a new direction of development; third, the synergy between the Forum and the exhibition has been strengthened, which has significantly enhanced the professional and practical effectiveness of the event; fourth, the in-depth integration of the Macao element, which is the key factor of the Forum.
