The Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, Kunming Customs and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Kunming have jointly launched the project of normalizing the import of aquatic products in the southbound direction of the China-Laos Railway. In the future, aquatic products from South and Southeast Asian countries and the Indian Ocean Rim region can be directly transported to Kunming through road-rail combined transportation, and then dispersed to China's domestic market.

A batch of cooked frozen shrimp from Thailand was opened, measured, weighed, thawed and weighed on site in Baozhu Pear Industrial Park, Chenggong District, Kunming City. This batch of cooked frozen shrimp was salvaged from the southern waters of Thailand, processed in the Songkhla factory in Thailand, and transported to Vientiane South Railway Station in Laos by road in the full cold chain mode of "one box to the end", and then transported to Mohan Port in China by the "Lancang-Mekong Express" international cargo train of the China-Laos Railway, and then transported to Kunming after strict inspection.

Suladi, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Kunming, said that the Thai cooked frozen shrimp imported by Chinese enterprises this time adopted the combined transportation method of road and rail, which greatly improved the timeliness of Thai aquatic products entering the Chinese market compared with traditional shipping, and provided more transportation options for Thailand's export aquatic products. The relevant departments of Thailand will strengthen supervision to ensure the quality of aquatic products exported from Thailand.

In order to give full play to the advantages of Yunnan Province's opening to South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean Rim region, and promote the consumption and industrial development of aquatic products, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce has recently issued seven measures to support the import of aquatic products, covering the improvement of infrastructure, improve the efficiency of customs clearance, and introduce and train business entities. Deng Yuan, deputy director of the cross-border e-commerce department of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, said that the measures focus on reducing costs and increasing efficiency, market development, etc., and the goal is to promote Yunnan Province to achieve an average annual growth rate of more than 30% of imported aquatic products, and by 2027, the basic formation of a distribution network for aquatic products facing the southwest and radiating the whole country, and building an aquatic product import distribution center.

Wang Zhiwen, deputy director of Kunming Customs, said that Kunming Customs will actively implement the "7×24 hours" appointment customs clearance system for aquatic products, set up "special windows" and "green channels", and fully support Yunnan Province to import aquatic products through the southbound normalization of the China-Laos Railway.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
