The core benchmark project of the second batch of large-scale wind and solar power bases in Shagehuang, China - China Energy Construction Hami Solar Thermal Storage 1500 MW Base Project Photovoltaic Zone has officially started construction recently.

The project is located in Chahaquan area, Santanghu Town, Barkun County, Hami City, Xinjiang, with a total area of about 50000 acres. It adopts the integrated collaborative mode of photovoltaic, solar thermal and thermal storage, and constructs 1350 megawatts of photovoltaic and 150 megawatts of solar thermal, supporting the construction of one heat absorption tower, two 220 kV boosting collection stations and transmission lines.

After completion, the project is expected to generate approximately 3 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, including about 2.8 billion kilowatt hours of photovoltaic power generation and about 200 million kilowatt hours of solar thermal power generation. It can save 868000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.256 million tons annually. Keywords: new energy, integrated solar thermal storage

China Energy Engineering Gezhouba Third Company undertakes the construction of the photovoltaic zone section 4 of the project, with the main construction content being the construction and installation of a 406.97 MW photovoltaic array area, covering the entire process of site clearing, site leveling, construction contracting, project grid connection, acceptance, and achieving standards and excellence. This project is the largest single phase integrated solar thermal storage project in the world, and will generate significant ecological benefits upon completion.Editor/Gao Xue
