The bidding work for the construction and installation of the Wuxiangmiao water supply system for the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel Project has been completed recently. China Railway Fourth Group Co., Ltd. won the bid with 113141218.18 yuan, while China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Co., Ltd. and China Hydropower Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. ranked second and third with 112476405.00 yuan and 116116075.12 yuan, respectively.

This project is an important component of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel, located in Yichang City, Hubei Province. The project includes supporting works such as civil construction, equipment procurement and installation, water supply pipeline laying, and slope support for Wuxiangmiao Water Plant. The designed daily water supply capacity of the water plant is 76500 cubic meters, consisting of three major systems: water intake engineering, water purification plant, and water transmission engineering.

The water intake project will construct facilities such as a water intake floating boat, a 55 meter long DN900 single-stage rocker arm pipe, and a 40 meter long DN1000 raw water pipeline; The water purification plant includes production water treatment structures, domestic water treatment structures, and supporting auxiliary facilities; The water transmission project will lay 15 kilometers of production water main pipes and 5.9 kilometers of domestic water main pipes, and construct multiple high-level water tanks.

As a supporting project of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel Project, the construction of the Wuxiangmiao Water Supply System has significant strategic significance. The total investment of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel Project is about 76.6 billion yuan, with a total construction period of 100 months (excluding the 12-month preparation period), including two major parts: the Three Gorges Hub New Channel Project and the Gezhouba Shipping Capacity Expansion Project.

Among them, the Three Gorges Hub New Channel Project adopts a double line continuous five level ship lock scheme, designed to accommodate ships of 10000 tons; The Gezhouba Shipping Capacity Expansion Project will demolish the existing No. 3 ship lock and build a new two-line ship lock.
