On August 1, the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission officially announced the feasibility study report of the Hefei section of the Hangzhou-Hefei Expressway, marking that this major transportation infrastructure project with a total investment of 12.442 billion yuan is about to enter the implementation stage. The project will significantly improve traffic conditions in the northeast of Hefei and further improve the layout of the regional expressway network.
According to the publicity, the project route has a total length of 59.37 kilometers, starting from the east side of Yangdian Township, Feidong County, and ending at the border between Hefei and Ma'anshan City, which will connect many important traffic trunk lines such as the Hefei Metropolitan Circle Ring Expressway and the Jining-Hefei Expressway. The project adopts the standard construction of a two-way six-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour and a roadbed width of 34.5 meters.
Along the project, 4 bridges, 16 bridges and 1 long tunnel will be built, and 9 interchanges, 4 ramp toll stations and 1 service area will be set up. Among them, the construction of the Fuchashan Tunnel will effectively solve the problem of traffic obstruction caused by the mountainous terrain.

In terms of financing, the project capital accounts for 20% of the total investment, which is jointly funded by the finances of Hefei City, Chaohu City and Feidong County, and the rest of the funds will be solved through the issuance of local government special bonds. This diversified financing model provides a strong guarantee for the smooth implementation of the project.
The construction of the project will bring multiple benefits: on the one hand, it will greatly shorten the time and space distance between the northeast region of Hefei and the core cities of the Yangtze River Delta; on the other hand, it will drive the economic development of townships along the route, especially for the development of tourism resources in the northern part of Chaohu Lake. After the completion of the project, it will further improve the layout of the "five vertical and nine horizontal" expressway network in Anhui Province and strengthen Hefei's status as a transportation hub as a sub-center of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.
The project is in the pre-approval publicity stage, and the publicity period will last until August 14. Relevant opinions and suggestions can be reflected in writing or by email to the Infrastructure Development Department of the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission. After the project is approved, it is expected to enter the substantive construction stage soon.
