China and Kazakhstan reach a memorandum of cooperation

Recently, Nurdorette Kilibay, the Governor of Mangystau Oblast in Kazakhstan, met with representatives from China's "China International" and "Goyu Uchan" groups to discuss the construction cooperation plan for the Aktau Port logistics center.

According to the state government news agency, China has submitted specific investment proposals, including the construction of modern seaports and related logistics facilities.

Both parties signed a memorandum of cooperation after the meeting, clarifying that "Heilongjiang Zhongyun International Industrial Company" will be responsible for the construction and financing of the project.

Building a new hub for Eurasian freight transportation

This project is positioned as a new transit node for the Eurasian continent and will operate based on the "Trans Caspian International Transport Route".

In recent years, this channel has been seen as an important alternative path connecting China and Europe, especially in the context of changing geopolitical situations, and its strategic value continues to rise.

Chinese companies hope to leverage Aktau Port to enhance China's multimodal transport capabilities in Central Asia, open up export channels linking land and sea, and further strengthen its radiation power in the Central Asian, South Caucasus, and European markets.
