On August 11, Huaguanghai International Logistics Group Co., Ltd. and Hunan Jinhang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract for the construction of 1052TEU/14000 dwt LNG-powered river-sea direct open container ships. This project marks a major breakthrough in the green transformation of Yangtze River shipping, and will become the largest LNG-powered direct river-sea container ship on the Yangtze River route after completion.
The ship has a total length of 129.98 meters, a width of 23.90 meters, a depth of 11.00 meters, a dual-engine, double-propeller, and dual-rudder design, and is equipped with the first electric side thrust device. As a landmark project of the green transformation of Yangtze River Shipping, the ship will use LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a single fuel to achieve clean energy drive throughout the process. Compared with traditional fuel power, it can reduce carbon emissions by 20%-30%, reduce particulate matter emissions by more than 90%, and significantly reduce sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.

Luo Jianzhong, general manager of the shipbuilding department of Huaguanghai International Logistics Group Co., Ltd., said that the project is the first landing project after the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jinhang Shipbuilding on July 15 for the batch construction of new energy ships, and the ship price does not exceed 56 million yuan. As the first international logistics listed company on the Beijing Stock Exchange, this move will further consolidate its leading position in the field of Yangtze River shipping.
Luo Chaohua, chairman of Hunan Jinhang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., said that the project will accelerate the company's green and intelligent transformation process and help build a green shipbuilding demonstration base in Hunan Province. As a national-level specialized and new "little giant" enterprise, Jinhang Shipbuilding has significant advantages in the field of green shipbuilding.
It is understood that Huaguang Sea currently operates 11 ships with a total capacity of more than 4,000 TEU, making it the largest private international logistics group in the central and southern regions. The construction of the new ship will further enhance its competitiveness in the Yangtze River shipping market and inject new impetus into the green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. After the completion of the project, it will be put into operation on major routes such as Changsha Port to Shanghai Overseas Port and Yueyang Port to Yangshan Port, serving the main ports in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
