On September 15, 2025, the Romanian National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) released the latest data on the development progress of renewable energy projects in the country. As of August 1, 2025, Romania has a total of 1283 renewable energy projects with an installed capacity of no less than 1 MW that have obtained valid grid access technology licenses, with a total installed capacity exceeding 62300 MW.

Among these projects, 834 have officially signed grid connection contracts, with a total grid connected power of approximately 40000 megawatts; 468 projects have successfully obtained construction permits, involving a total power of 18737 megawatts; However, only 163 projects with a total installed capacity of 6772 megawatts have obtained complete approvals for grid access permits, grid connection contracts, construction permits, and ANRE establishment permits. It is worth mentioning that 48 projects are planned to build energy storage facilities with a total power output of 2351 megawatts.

Compared with the data on July 1, 2025, renewable energy projects have shown positive progress in multiple approval stages: the number of grid access technology licenses has slightly increased by 0.23%, the number of grid connection contracts has increased by 4.25%, the number of construction licenses has increased by 7.95%, and the number of projects obtaining all necessary licenses has also increased by 5.16%.

Although the number of projects that have completed all approval procedures is still relatively limited, accounting for a small proportion, the growth of various indicators in the past month shows that the development of renewable energy projects in Romania is still continuing to advance, and the overall situation is improving.
