Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transformation and surging wave of renewable energy development, China and Kazakhstan have continuously deepened their cooperation in the energy field, becoming a model of international cooperation under the "the Belt and Road" initiative. Recently, Chinese wind power giant Farview Energy has once again achieved good news in the energy market of Kazakhstan, winning a 1GW wind turbine order. This news marks a more solid step for Farview Energy's wind power layout in Kazakhstan and even Central Asia.

On October 2-3, Kazakhstan Energy Week was grandly held in Astana. During this period, Far East Energy successfully signed a contract with developer Aktas Energy for the Mirny 1GW wind power project, which will provide 124 6.5MW wind turbines for the project. Aktas Energy Company has a significant background and was jointly established by Total Energies, Samruk Energo JSC, and KazMunayGas, demonstrating the importance and influence of this project.

In recent years, Far East Energy has made in-depth and comprehensive investment layouts in the wind power market in Kazakhstan. On January 17, 2025 local time, the intelligent wind turbine and smart energy storage system production base jointly built with Kazakhstan Public Utility Company officially started construction in Jeet Suzhou. The total investment of this project is 40 million US dollars, with a designed annual production capacity of 250 wind turbines and 100 sets of energy storage systems, capable of supporting 2GW wind power projects and 1GWh energy storage projects. According to the plan, the base will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2026, with 60% of its production capacity serving the local market and the remaining capacity radiating to Asia, Europe, and even the world. In addition, Far East Energy actively provides full process green technology support and plans to collaborate with local universities to develop green products that are more suitable for Kazakhstan.

In terms of market performance, Far East Energy can be regarded as the "leader" in Kazakhstan's wind power market. As the earliest Chinese wind turbine manufacturer to enter the market, as of June 2025, its installed capacity of wind power in Harbin has reached 550MW, with nearly 1GW of orders in hand, and its market share is unparalleled. Taking the 100 MW wind power project in Zanatas, Kazakhstan as an example, all of it uses Far East Energy's intelligent wind turbines. The project was fully connected to the grid in June 2021 and has generated an average of 3940 hours of electricity per year over the past three years. In 2023, it reached as high as 4040 hours, fully demonstrating the outstanding performance of its products. Keywords: the Belt and Road, the Belt and Road News

The development prospects of Farview Energy in Kazakhstan are bright. With the landing of 1GW wind turbine orders and the gradual construction and operation of production bases, Far East Energy is expected to further consolidate its leading position in the wind power market in Kazakhstan, injecting strong impetus into the local energy transformation and sustainable development. At the same time, it will also set a new benchmark for the in-depth cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the energy field, and promote the "the Belt and Road" initiative to bear more fruitful results in the energy field.Editor/Cheng Liting
