Recently, Nanwang Energy Storage Technology Company officially announced the winning bid for the EPC general contracting of the Zhongwei Battery Energy Storage Project in Ningxia, marking a crucial step in the construction of this large-scale grid type electrochemical energy storage power station.

According to the bidding overview, Southern Power Grid Peak shaving and Frequency Regulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. plans to construct a grid type electrochemical energy storage power station using lithium iron phosphate batteries on the east side of Zhenzhao Line in Zhenluo Town, Shapotou District, Zhongwei City, Ningxia. The installed capacity of the DC side of the project is as high as 720MW/1440MWh, and the installed power of its energy storage converter is 1440MW, which is reduced to 720MW for operation. The bidding scope covers the entire process of the project from start-up to delivery, including preliminary design and review, equipment procurement and supply, construction drawing design and review, engineering construction (covering all civil engineering, mechanical and electrical installation, handover testing, commissioning of power transmission and transformation engineering, energy storage engineering, primary and secondary equipment, communication monitoring, outgoing line access and ancillary engineering, and responsible for communication and automation access to the energy storage centralized control platform of Nanwang Energy Storage Company), engineering approval and testing acceptance (handling various approvals from government and power dispatch departments, environmental impact assessments, water conservation, fire protection, safety assessments, security evaluations, planning and construction permits and other compliance procedures), production preparation (equipping tools, preparing production documents, etc.), and final completion acceptance and archive filing. The project has also established the goal of creating a national high-quality project, and plans to apply for awards such as "China Installation Star" and "China Power Quality Project".
