Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition, international cooperation in the photovoltaic industry chain continues to deepen. Recently, Türkiye's local battery module manufacturer Alfa Solar and Chint Germany officially signed a joint venture agreement to jointly announce the construction of an integrated silicon wafer and solar cell production base in Türkiye's Balkeasir Province, which has attracted widespread attention in the industry.

According to the joint statement released by both parties, the cooperation project focuses on the layout of the entire industry chain, with an initial planned annual production capacity of 2.5GW, covering the complete process flow from silicon wafer manufacturing to battery production, forming a highly integrated production loop. In terms of investment arrangement, the first phase of the project is expected to invest 200 million US dollars, mainly for factory construction, production equipment procurement, and related technical investment. In terms of equity structure design, after the completion of equity transfer and capital increase processes, Alfa Solar and Chint Germany will each hold 50% of the equity of the joint venture company, forming a cooperative structure of equal governance and collaborative operation.
From the perspective of resource endowments of both parties, Alfa Solar, as a leading photovoltaic module manufacturer in Türkiye, has significant advantages in local industrial resource integration and market channels; Chint Germany, on the other hand, relies on its parent company's profound technical accumulation in the photovoltaic field, with rich experience in production processes and global operations. It is reported that both parties have reached an agreement on core cooperation principles such as technology sharing and risk sharing. The key to the current project progress is to successfully pass local regulatory approvals, and the subsequent progress will be announced to the outside world in a timely manner.

Industry observers pointed out that the implementation of the production base will effectively make up for the capacity gap in Türkiye in the manufacturing process of high-efficiency photovoltaic silicon wafers and batteries. With Türkiye's location advantage across Europe and Asia, the project will not only serve the local market, but also radiate to Europe, the Middle East and other surrounding regions, which is of strategic significance to enhance the integrity and resilience of the regional PV supply chain. The strong alliance between Alfa Solar and Chint Germany is not only a concrete manifestation of the deepening cooperation between China and Turkey in the field of clean energy, but also sets a new example for the regionalization and localization layout of the global photovoltaic industry chain. As the project progresses, it is expected to further optimize the photovoltaic supply pattern in Europe and the Middle East, injecting new impetus into the global energy green transformation.
