Recently, Shandong Electric Power Construction Third Engineering Co., Ltd. a leading enterprise in China's energy construction field, and Jiawei New Energy Co., Ltd. a leading domestic new energy enterprise, officially signed a cooperation agreement for the integration of wind power storage projects in Vietnam. This cross-border collaboration not only marks another important achievement of Chinese new energy enterprises in the "the Belt and Road" green energy cooperation, but also sets a new benchmark for technology integration and sustainable development of China Vietnam energy cooperation with the integrated solution of "wind power+energy storage".

It is reported that the project is located in a key energy development zone in southern Vietnam, with a planned total installed capacity of 1GW and the construction of a large capacity energy storage system, with a total investment of over 10 billion yuan. After the project is completed, it will fully utilize Vietnam's abundant wind energy resources, effectively solve the intermittent and fluctuating problems of new energy generation through the coordinated operation of wind power and energy storage technology, and achieve stable power output. It is expected to replace traditional fossil fuels with over 3 million tons of standard coal per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 8 million tons, providing key support for Vietnam to build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and helping the local area achieve a breakthrough in the "carbon neutrality" goal.

As a benchmark enterprise that has been deeply involved in the international engineering construction field for decades, Shandong Electric Power Construction, with its mature experience in planning, constructing, and operating the entire industry chain of large-scale energy projects, as well as its localized resources and compliance operation capabilities accumulated in the Vietnamese market for many years, will undertake the overall engineering general contracting task of the project, responsible for the full process implementation of project design, construction, commissioning, etc. Jiawei New Energy focuses on empowering core technologies, providing efficient wind turbines, energy storage battery modules, and intelligent control systems. Its independently developed high safety energy storage technology and wind power adaptation solutions will provide core guarantees for the efficient operation and long-term stability of the project. The two sides complement each other's advantages and form a strong alliance to build a complete cooperation chain of "technology research and development+engineering implementation+operation services", laying a solid foundation for the high-quality promotion of the project.

From the perspective of industry trends, as the global energy transition enters the deep-water zone, "wind power+energy storage" has become the mainstream model for the development of new energy projects, and Southeast Asia, with its abundant renewable energy resources and huge energy demand gap, is becoming the core battlefield for Chinese new energy enterprises to "go global". The cooperation between Shandong Electric Power Construction and Jiawei New Energy is not only an important layout for the company to respond to the national "dual carbon" strategy and expand the international market, but also meets the urgent needs of Vietnam's energy structure optimization. The implementation of the project will further deepen the deep cooperation between China and Vietnam in the fields of new energy technology, standards, and industries, drive the full industry chain of China's wind power, energy storage equipment manufacturing, engineering technology services, etc. to "go global", and enhance the discourse power and competitiveness of China's new energy industry in the international market.

The relevant person in charge of the Vietnamese Ministry of Energy stated that this project is one of the largest and most advanced integrated wind power and energy storage projects introduced by Vietnam in recent years. It will create thousands of job opportunities for the local area, drive the development of upstream and downstream industries, and cultivate a group of new energy technology and management talents for Vietnam. In the future, Vietnam will continue to deepen cooperation with China in the field of green energy, welcome more Chinese companies to bring advanced technology and high-quality projects, and jointly promote regional energy sustainable development.

The Chairman of Shandong Electric Power Construction stated that the company will take this cooperation as an opportunity to fully leverage its international engineering contracting advantages, strictly control project quality, safety, and progress, and make every effort to build the project into a high-quality and demonstration project of China Vietnam green cooperation. The CEO of Jiawei New Energy emphasized that they will continue to invest in technology research and development, provide the most competitive new energy solutions for projects, work together with Shandong Electric Power Construction to help Vietnam achieve its energy transformation goals, and inject green momentum into building a China Vietnam community with a shared future.

Next, both parties will accelerate the preliminary preparation work of the project, and it is expected to officially start construction within the year. The first batch of units will be connected to the grid for power generation by 2026. With the successful implementation of the project, it will further promote the promotion and application of China's new energy technologies and standards in Southeast Asia, write a vivid practice for the "the Belt and Road" green development initiative, and provide replicable and replicable successful experience for transnational energy cooperation in the context of global energy transformation.Editor/Bian Wenjun
