Recently, the state-owned enterprise Xintian Green Energy Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Xintian Green Energy") received heavy news that its planned green hydrogen to green ammonia project has been officially approved by relevant departments. The total investment of this project is 405 million yuan, and after completion and operation, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 13943 tons of green ammonia, becoming an important benchmark project for the layout of the hydrogen energy industry in North China.
As a key state-owned enterprise in Hebei Province, Xintian Green Energy has been deeply involved in the field of new energy for many years, with business covering multiple sectors such as wind power, photovoltaics, and natural gas. The layout of the green hydrogen to green ammonia project is a key step for the enterprise to achieve the "dual carbon" goal and expand the clean energy industry chain. The project site selection relies on Xintian Green Energy's wind and solar power generation bases in Inner Mongolia and other places, adopting a full green power industry chain model of "wind and solar power generation electrolytic water hydrogen production synthetic green ammonia" to ensure the zero carbon attributes of the product from the source. The high-efficiency alkaline electrolysis cell is selected for the electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen, with a hydrogen production efficiency of over 75%; The synthetic ammonia process adopts advanced low-pressure synthesis technology, significantly reducing energy consumption, and the overall project energy self-sufficiency rate exceeds 90%.

Green ammonia, as an efficient hydrogen storage and transportation carrier, has both clean properties and application flexibility. It can not only be directly used as a fertilizer raw material to assist in the green transformation of agriculture, but also converted into hydrogen through ammonia decomposition technology, providing green hydrogen support for fields such as fuel cells and industrial steelmaking. According to estimates, after the project reaches production capacity, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 120000 tons per year, equivalent to planting about 3.3 million trees. At the same time, it can drive the development of upstream and downstream industries such as hydrogen energy storage and transportation, equipment manufacturing, and create more than 200 job opportunities.
It is worth noting that the approval of Xintian Green Energy's green hydrogen project coincides with the intensive implementation of domestic hydrogen energy industry policies. In recent years, multiple policies have been introduced at the national and local levels to explicitly support the research and large-scale application of green hydrogen to green ammonia technology, and encourage enterprises to explore diversified application scenarios of "green hydrogen+industry" and "green hydrogen+transportation". In this context, Xintian Green Energy, with its advantages in wind and solar energy and industrial integration capabilities, is expected to seize the opportunity in the hydrogen energy field and inject new momentum into the regional energy structure transformation.

According to the relevant person in charge of Xintian Green Energy, the project is expected to start construction within the year, with a construction period of about 18 months. After completion, it will form a synergistic effect with the existing wind and solar power stations of the enterprise, creating an integrated hydrogen energy industry ecology of "generation, storage, production, and use".
