On April 29, 2026, the electrolysis water hydrogen production station project of the integrated wind solar hydrogen production and synthesis green ammonia project in Etuoke Front Banner, northern China, was officially approved for filing. The total investment of this project is about 1.326 billion yuan, and it is located in the Energy and Chemical Industry Zone of Shanghai Temple Economic Development Zone, Etuoke Front Banner. It is planned to start construction in December 2026 and be completed and put into operation in December 2028. It is planned to build an electrolytic water hydrogen production station with an annual output of about 20000 tons of green hydrogen.

The hydrogen production system adopts proton exchange membrane electrolysis cell as the main equipment, and is equipped with alkaline electrolysis cell and anion exchange membrane electrolysis cell to integrate the advantages of multiple technological routes and adapt to the fluctuating electricity of renewable energy. The project will simultaneously construct gas-liquid separation equipment, hydrogen purification equipment, hydrogen storage facilities, water treatment facilities, fire protection and security facilities, and other ancillary facilities. The hydrogen production station is a core component of the integrated project of Shenneng Wind Solar Hydrogen Production and Synthesis of Green Ammonia. The upstream is connected to the wind solar resources in Etuoke Front Banner, and the produced green hydrogen will be used as raw material to supply the green ammonia synthesis unit downstream. After the project is put into operation, it will further open up the closed loop of the entire industry chain from green electricity to green hydrogen and then to green ammonia in western Inner Mongolia, providing capacity support for clean energy consumption and decarbonization of the chemical industry in the northwest region.Editor/Gao Xue
