Among the continuous peaks of the Yanshan Mountains, a super project for energy infrastructure with a total investment of 9.68 billion yuan is about to kick off construction. On December 10, 20254, the winning bid for the key construction project of the Anziling Pumped Storage Power Station in Xinglong, Chengde was announced. China Water Resources and Hydropower Seventh Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. proposed to win the bid with a price of about 137 million yuan, marking the official entry of this first-class large-scale project with an installed capacity of 1400 megawatts into the substantive construction stage.

The project has been approved, with significant advantages in location and infrastructure

The power station has been officially approved by the Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and is fully funded and operated by China Power Construction Xinglong New Energy Development Co., Ltd. The project is located in Anziling Township, Xinglong County, Chengde City, with unique geographical location and transportation conditions. It is about 65 kilometers away from Xinglong County, about 95 kilometers away from Chengde City, and 115 kilometers and 210 kilometers away from Tangshan and Beijing respectively. The well-developed X556 County Road, S212 Provincial Road, G25 Changshen Expressway network in the surrounding area, as well as the nearby Chengde Station, Chengde East Station Freight Station, and Tianjin Xingang, provide solid support for the large-scale material transportation and equipment hoisting of the project.

2. Technical scale, detailed explanation of first-class large-scale projects

As a first-class large-scale project in the planning, Xinglong Anziling Pumped Storage Power Station has advanced technical indicators and a complex system composition. Its rated head is as high as 633 meters, and the hub project mainly includes an upper reservoir, a lower reservoir, a water transmission system, and an underground powerhouse. The upper reservoir adopts an asphalt concrete panel dam with a crest elevation of 1079 meters, and implements anti-seepage measures for the entire reservoir basin; The water supply system adopts a "one tunnel, two machines" layout, with a total length of 3670 meters and a distance to height ratio of 4.61. Four single-stage mixed flow reversible water pump turbine units with a single capacity of 350 megawatts will be installed in the underground powerhouse, with a total installed capacity of 1400 megawatts. The lower reservoir adopts a reinforced concrete face rockfill dam, and is equipped with a spillway and a flood discharge tunnel.

Tendering advances, hydropower powerhouse gathers to assist energy transformation

The construction period of the cavern project in this bidding is the key to the project, which includes ventilation and safety tunnels, transportation tunnels, related ancillary caverns, underground wastewater treatment systems, and safety monitoring engineering. In the fierce competition, China Water Resources and Hydropower Seventh Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. stood out and ranked first with a quotation of 137 million yuan. China Water Resources and Hydropower Fifth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., with approximately 138 million yuan, and Eleventh Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., with approximately 135 million yuan, ranked second and third respectively. These backbone enterprises in the field of hydropower construction in China have gathered, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of this major project.

The construction of this power station is not only of great significance for optimizing the power grid structure in the northern Hebei region and even the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, improving the regulation capacity and safety guarantee level of the power system, but also another solid step for China to build a new type of power system and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy.
