In December in Hanoi, the sunlight penetrates through the morning mist and falls on the construction site next to Shenglong Avenue. Recently, the construction of Hanoi Metro Line 5 officially broke ground, and a consortium led by Chinese private enterprise Pacific Construction Group won the 19.2 billion yuan general contract.

The Chinese solution has been recognized again, and the overall technical standards have been output

This winning bid marks the international market recognition of China's rail transit technology standards once again. Three units under the Shenzhen Railway Group within the consortium have undertaken core tasks worth 886 million yuan, covering key aspects such as planning and design, equipment and technical services.

This is a qualitative leap compared to when Chinese companies undertook the Hanoi light rail project in 2014. At that time, the Chinese side was more responsible for construction, but this time the Shenzhen team achieved a full chain service from design to operation. From a single construction to a comprehensive solution, this is an important turning point for China's infrastructure to go global, "commented an international engineering observer. Since responding to the the Belt and Road Initiative in 2014, Shenzhen Railway Group has provided 208.4 kilometers of service miles overseas.

The Chinese rail transit industry is upgrading from "going global" to "going global". Blooming again in the Vietnamese market, laying a solid foundation for expanding into Southeast Asia and even the global market in the future.

Cracking the transportation dilemma in Hanoi and reconstructing the urban development axis

The Hanoi Metro Line 5 is not only a transportation project, but also a reconstructor of the urban development axis. This 39.58-kilometer line will connect the central urban area with the Hele Satellite City, with 20 stations including underground, ground, and elevated sections. The maximum speed of the route design is 120 kilometers per hour (ground and elevated sections) and 90 kilometers per hour (underground section), with a planned completion date of 2029 and commercial operation by 2030. After completion, it will effectively alleviate the traffic pressure along Shenglong Avenue.

As the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi's population density continues to rise, and traffic congestion has become a bottleneck restricting urban development. As a backbone express line, Line 5 will help promote the coordinated development of regional industries and population. This is not only two tracks, but also a new artery for Hanoi's urban development, "said Vietnamese transportation planning experts. The project will promote the optimization of urban spatial structure and promote economic vitality in the surrounding areas.

The Shenzhen Legion has collectively gone global, achieving a breakthrough in business models

The overseas lineup of Shenzhen Railway Group demonstrates the comprehensive capabilities of Chinese urban rail transit enterprises. Shenzhen Municipal Council, Shenzhen Railway International, and Shenzhen Building Materials jointly undertake core tasks to achieve integrated business models. From Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to Abuja in Nigeria, from Tel Aviv in Israel to Ramadan City in Egypt, the service footprint of Shenzhen rail transit companies has spread across six co built countries.

This winning bid marks a substantial breakthrough in the business transformation and service capability spillover of enterprises under Shenzhen Railway Group. Their service model has achieved integration of "planning and design+equipment services+equipment debugging+operation consulting". This is no longer a solo effort, but a system level solution output. "Infrastructure analysts point out that the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in the international market is shifting from price advantages to comprehensive service capabilities.

The pile drivers on the construction site of Hanoi Metro Line 5 have been started, and workers are shuttling back and forth wearing safety helmets with the logos of Chinese and Vietnamese companies. In the next four years, a modern transportation hub will emerge here. Keywords: the Belt and Road news, latest information of Southeast Asia

With the continuous release of Vietnam's infrastructure upgrade demand, Chinese infrastructure companies are expected to win more opportunities in the Southeast Asian market with their technological, experience, and cost advantages. This subway line not only carries the travel convenience of Hanoi citizens, but also witnesses the solid pace of international cooperation under the the Belt and Road Initiative. Editor/Yang Meiling
