On April 28, 2026, China Energy Engineering Co., Ltd. took the lead in signing the cooperation agreement for the 1.5GW offshore wind power project in Chanakale, Türkiye. This is the first and largest offshore wind power project in Türkiye's history, marking the official landing of China's offshore wind power technology and the strength of the whole industry chain in Türkiye, injecting new momentum into China Turkey energy cooperation.

Three parties work together to achieve zero breakthroughs
The signing ceremony was held at the site of the Shengsi offshore wind power project in Zhoushan. Li Gang, President of China Energy Construction Marine Energy Research Institute, signed a cooperation agreement with Ali Kanda, CEO of Türkiye Tukla Energy Group, and Suleiman, Chairman of SMZ Engineering Co., Ltd. As the first offshore wind power project in Türkiye, the Chanakale project fully conforms to Türkiye's national strategy for energy security and renewable energy development. Türkiye plans to increase the installed capacity of wind power to 14.8 gigawatts by the end of 2025, and to achieve a total installed capacity of 120 gigawatts by 2035.

China can build a complete industrial chain to safeguard
China Energy Engineering Group's subsidiaries have undertaken over 50 offshore wind power projects, with a total installed capacity of 25.8GW and mastery of multiple global leading technologies. In this cooperation, the consulting company will adopt a financing construction operation full chain model to provide an integrated solution for the Chanakale project. China Energy Engineering Corporation has a deep foundation in the field of offshore wind power, leading the development of the country's first national standard for offshore wind power plants and breaking through multiple technological barriers in areas such as typhoon resistance and submarine cable laying. Chinese technology helps Türkiye transform
After signing the contract, the attending guests visited the research achievements of the Ocean Energy Research Institute, covering fields such as floating offshore wind power, wind solar integration, wind fishing integration, and digital operation and maintenance. These mature technologies will be introduced into the Ç anakkale project to solve technical difficulties during construction. Previously, China Energy Construction has participated in cooperation projects such as Türkiye's Hunutru Power Plant. This signing of offshore wind power will further expand the breadth and depth of China Turkey energy cooperation and open up a new path for the international development of China's offshore wind power industry.Editor/Gao Xue
