Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" target, high-energy consuming enterprises are entering an important breakthrough period in their energy transformation. Recently, Inner Mongolia Chuangyuan Metal Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation contract with Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Zhiguang Energy Storage") for the third phase of the source grid load storage integration project. The total capacity of the first, second, and third phases of the project's cascaded high-voltage energy storage system has exceeded 1GWh, continuously breaking the industry record for the installation scale of user side structured energy storage systems.

From 2024 to present, the two parties have deepened cooperation through project construction and established a full chain partnership of "technology research and development engineering application system integration". This not only realizes the large-scale application of cascaded high-voltage energy storage technology in large-scale industrial load scenarios, but also provides a replicable industry model for large high energy consuming enterprises to achieve stable direct supply of green electricity and build a low-carbon energy system.

The three phases of the project are all located in the industrial park of Huolingole City, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, and all adopt the grid type cascaded high-voltage energy storage system independently developed by Zhiguang Energy Storage. At the time of the release of the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Integrated Development of New Energy by the National Energy Administration, grid based energy storage has been clearly listed as a "hard indicator" for the integration of new energy into the grid. Relying on the abundant wind and light resources of the Keerqin grassland in Inner Mongolia, both sides have jointly built a green energy ecology of "wind solar energy storage" synergy.

Behind the abundant scenic resources of the Khorchin grassland in Inner Mongolia, extreme weather conditions such as severe cold, high temperatures, and strong winds, coupled with the volatility and intermittency of new energy, pose severe challenges to the continuous production of enterprises. The grid type cascaded high-voltage energy storage system independently developed by Zhiguang Energy Storage actively constructs the grid voltage and frequency through the "self synchronous voltage source" control technology, with strong inertia support and wide short-circuit ratio adaptability. In the first phase of the project, the system successfully achieved black start and synchronous grid connection for the supporting coal-fired units, verifying its ability to maintain stable system operation under extreme weather conditions.
