On January 13, 2026, the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) launched the selection of "Top Ten News Stories of SPIC in 2025". Among them, the seven major breakthroughs made by the group in the clean energy sector last year became important news stories for selection.

Five technologies have been promoted by the state, six achievements have been selected into the list of the first (set) major technical equipment, and five achievements have won the Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award.

The "Intelligent Detection System for Preventing Foreign Object Falls" won the Gold Award at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, three QC achievements won the International Gold Award, and a number of technological innovation achievements were rated as internationally advanced.

Nine projects have been awarded the "China Power Quality Engineering Award", and 29 photovoltaic plants (stations) and 17 wind power plants (stations) have been recognized as "Benchmark Plants (Stations)" and "Excellent Plants (Stations)" nationwide

Haiyang Nuclear Power has achieved 100% localization technology capability for all imported spare parts, and China has 100% localization capability for two nuclear power equipment items. The national standard system for normal source term analysis of pressurized water reactors has been fully established

China's largest 100-megawatt-scale battery swapping station aggregation and grid interaction demonstration project has been launched, "Hydrogen Ascend" battery's full-chain independent technology products have obtained international certification, and new breakthroughs have been made in the pilot tasks for building a strong transportation country

The 500 kV reverse power transmission of Haiyang Nuclear Power Unit 3 has been successfully completed, marking the completion of the main structure of the world's largest nuclear power tower. The first phase of the Bailong Nuclear Power project has commenced, and Haiyang Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6 have been approved.

Construction has begun on China's largest Shagou Desert base, with a series of projects including Mianchuan and Jianke being put into operation, marking a new peak in clean energy development. The Da'an project has been commissioned and obtained the world's first green ammonia certification, marking a solid start for new production capacity.
