Just after New Year's Day in 2026, the construction site of Rongsheng New Materials Engineering Project is bustling with activity. Within the reaction framework of the 300000 ton/year PEO plant, which is over 20 meters high, a precise and surgical like "giant" lifting operation is being carried out intensively. Four core equipment units with a total weight of over a thousand tons are being carefully placed in their designated locations. This not only demonstrates the technical strength, but also marks the sprint stage of equipment installation for the Jintang New Materials project, which has a total investment of 76 billion yuan.

Precise positioning of core equipment, project construction enters a new stage

On January 16, 2026, the Jintang New Materials project constructed by Rongsheng New Materials (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd. reached a critical milestone. All four core large-scale equipment within the PEO device reaction framework have been successfully hoisted into place. These four devices are the "heart" of the manufacturing process, and their successful installation is a milestone for the entire project.

The equipment to be lifted this time includes: the heaviest single unit equipment in the entire site with a net weight of 1063 tons - the reactor/gas cooler (1225-R-0110), which needs to be installed at an elevation of 20.85 meters; 232 ton reactor gas cooler steam drum (1225-V-0110); Reactor gas cooler steam drum (1225-V-0112) weighing 120 tons and installed at a height of 18.15 meters; And a 216 ton gas to gas heat exchanger (1225-E-0111). Their positioning means that the project equipment installation project has officially entered its final stage.

'Needle threading' and 'dual machine dance', solving the problem of high-altitude installation

The most technically challenging part of the lifting operation is the steam drum (1225-V-0112) weighing 120 tons. It needs to be precisely placed inside the narrow framework, with limited space and winding paths. The project team innovatively adopted the "dual machine lifting and frame traction" scheme: first, a 1600 ton crawler crane lifts it to the designated height at the edge of the frame, and then a 280 ton crawler crane relays it to a dedicated tire. Finally, the construction personnel used multiple sets of large chain blocks for precise traction adjustment, like "threading needles and leads", to pull this 120 ton "behemoth" to a height of 18.15 meters without any deviation, which can be regarded as a model of precise installation of large equipment "indoors".

The lifting of the 1063 ton "giant" reactor/gas cooler, which caught the attention of the audience, is the ultimate test of the team's comprehensive ability. The project adopts the classic lifting technology of "1600 ton crawler crane main crane, 800 ton crawler crane tail sliding", achieving precise docking at an altitude of 20.85 meters, demonstrating excellent coordination and technical strength.

Building a high-end materials industry cluster to assist in the upgrading of China's chemical industry

The Jintang New Materials Project is located on Jintang Island in Dinghai District, Zhoushan City. It is invested and constructed by Rongsheng New Materials (Zhoushan) Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 76 billion yuan. The project has a large scale and covers a complete industrial chain from upstream basic raw materials to downstream high-performance new materials.

Specifically, dozens of advanced production facilities will be built, including a 600000 ton/year propane dehydrogenation unit, a 3 million ton/year catalytic cracking unit, a 1 million ton/year EVA combined unit, a 300000 ton/year PEO unit, a 200000 ton/year POE unit, a 1.2 million ton/year ABS unit, a 2 × 260000 ton/year polycarbonate unit, and a 140000 standard cubic meter/hour coal to hydrogen unit.
