Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd (CATL), the global leader in electric vehicle batteries, has launched its first and largest service center in the Middle East, a strategic bet on Saudi Arabia’s ambitious push to diversify beyond oil and electrify its transport sector.

The new “Ningjia Service” hub in Riyadh spans over 7,000 square meters, combining a showcase, diagnostic and maintenance workshops, a training academy, and customer lounges. It is designed to be a one-stop shop for the full lifecycle of CATL’s battery products, serving everything from passenger cars and trucks to energy storage systems across the region.
“The opening of this center is a critical step for Ningjia Service going global and a solid commitment from CATL to participate in the Middle East’s energy transition,” said Li Wei, president of CATL’s quality system and aftermarket business. The move directly supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals, which include having 30% of vehicles in Riyadh be electric by 2030.

To tackle regional challenges like extreme heat, dust, and a local skills shortage, CATL partnered with Saudi firm F4S to operate the center. F4S’s engineers have been dual-certified by CATL for vehicle and storage system maintenance. At the launch event, F4S also signed multiple procurement deals with major local companies like Aldrees for a range of Chinese-made electric commercial vehicles and machinery powered by CATL batteries, all backed by Ningjia’s service pledge.
The Riyadh hub expands CATL’s global aftermarket footprint to over 1,200 service stations across 75 countries. It positions the Chinese giant not just as a battery supplier, but as an indispensable long-term service partner for the Middle East’s nascent but fast-growing electric mobility ecosystem.Editor/Cao Tianyi
