In Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, on a once peaceful plateau land, a computing power highland carrying the future of Chinese artificial intelligence is about to rise. Recently, the EPC general contracting results of the Hainan State Computing Power+Artificial Intelligence Industry Ecological Cluster Project with a total investment of 16.209 billion yuan were officially announced. As the leader of the consortium, Zhongshui North Survey and Design Research Co., Ltd., together with Hebei Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and Hebei Installation Engineering Co., Ltd., successfully won this highly anticipated intelligent computing infrastructure project.

66470 square meter computing fortress

The total construction area of the project is 66470 square meters, including 58370 square meters of data center, 5200 square meters of office building, 1500 square meters of ancillary office building, and 1400 square meters of substation. The project plan is to deploy a computing server cluster with a total capacity of up to 40000P, and simultaneously build a complete set of supporting storage devices, network devices, and security devices, which will become the cornerstone of computing power in China's artificial intelligence industry.

As the cornerstone of computing power in the artificial intelligence industry, this project's supporting engineering covers the entire technology chain. The power supply supporting project will build a new substation, high and low voltage distribution, UPS uninterruptible power supply system, and diesel generator set to ensure the stable operation of the computing power center 24/7. The temperature control system engineering introduces liquid cooled air conditioning systems and air conditioning distribution systems to address the heat dissipation challenges of high-density computing equipment and improve energy efficiency. The construction of an intelligent management system includes video surveillance, dynamic environmental monitoring, and access control systems to achieve comprehensive digital management of the computer room environment, equipment status, and secure access. The computer room process is equipped with a hot aisle closure system, cabinets, cable trays and other infrastructure to optimize airflow organization and cable management.

Building a benchmark for intelligent computing in 29 months

The project adopts an integrated EPC general contracting model of design procurement construction, with the consortium responsible for the architectural design and engineering construction. The total planned construction period is 29 months, with phased progress: in the architectural design phase, all design work will be completed within 5 months after the contract is signed; During the construction phase, the project should be completed within 24 months after the design is completed. This model is beneficial for shortening the construction period, controlling total investment, and ensuring efficient connection between design and construction.
