Yellan Akbarov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, announced at a conference of large coal enterprises that Kazakhstan will accelerate the coal production capacity expansion plan to meet the fuel demand of new energy projects. It is predicted that by 2032, the annual demand for thermal coal from newly added projects alone will exceed 19 million tons.

Bogaer Komir plans to increase coal production from 42.7 million tons in 2024 to 45.2 million tons in 2026, with a target of 56.5 million tons in 2032. By 2032, the company will invest 360 billion tenge in new construction projects, equipment procurement, and large-scale modernization renovations. In addition to technological upgrades, the company will also implement digital solutions, including production execution systems and cargo flow optimization technologies, to improve operational efficiency and safety levels.

Shubarkomir has confirmed that it will increase its production capacity to 16.1 million tons by 2026. The company's investment plan from 2026 to 2032 is 95.5 billion tenge, which will be used for technological transformation and digital construction, including promoting the CPVK-2 phase II project, implementing equipment modernization worth 49.4 billion tenge, and introducing innovative technologies such as the Hovermap 3D mapping system and unmanned transport trucks.
