In 2026, Silkway CA LLC, a joint venture company in Central Asia, signed an EPC turnkey contract with China Railway Construction Engineering Group. The Chinese side will be responsible for building a logistics center for cross-border transportation in Central Asia and Eurasia in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, marking the official entry of the project into the substantive construction phase. Previously, the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan emphasized that the center will play a strategic role in the development of the Trans Caspian International Transport Corridor.

According to the contract, China Railway Construction Engineering Group will undertake the entire construction process of the project, including engineering design, equipment supply, container terminal, railway infrastructure, etc. The owner stated that this modern logistics hub will enhance the transit transportation potential in Central Asia and is a long-term investment in the regional economy and international trade; Chinese enterprises promise to construct according to international standards and advanced technology to ensure timely delivery of the project.

The Silk Road Central Asia Logistics Center project was jointly launched by the presidents of Ukraine and Kazakhstan in November 2025, with an investment of approximately $300 million from Silkway CA LLC, a joint venture between related enterprises of the two countries. The project is located in Yangiyur District, Tashkent, covering an area of approximately 159.4 hectares. It will serve as a logistics hub connecting Kazakhstan, the Fergana Basin, and Samarkand. It plans to construct A-level and B-level warehouses, container yards, industrial zones, trade exhibition centers, and supporting infrastructure such as railways and highways.

The overall construction period of the project is expected to be until 2030, and the first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in early 2027. After completion, the center's annual processing capacity can reach 350000 TEUs, and its freight throughput is expected to reach 3 million tons by 2035, further strengthening its position as a hub in Central Asia and enhancing regional railway and multimodal transport capabilities.
