On March 8, 2026, the first train of the northern section of Urumqi Metro Line 2 Phase I project was officially delivered, and a 6-car train was successfully delivered to Urumqi. Urumqi Metro Line 2 adopts 6-car A-type trains, manufactured by Beijing Railway Baoding Intelligent Manufacturing Base, with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour, supporting multiple modes such as automatic driving, automatic turnaround, and restricted manual driving. The train is equipped with intelligent sensing, online fault diagnosis, onboard firewall, pantograph catenary and running gear monitoring systems, and through the TCN redundant bus structure, comprehensively guarantees the safety and reliability of train operation.

This vehicle transportation distance is nearly 3000 kilometers from Urumqi, setting a record for the longest distance of vehicle delivery to date at the Beijing Automotive Baoding Intelligent Manufacturing Base. After the delivery of the first train, Urumqi Metro Line 2 officially entered the critical stage of vehicle debugging and system integration. Relevant units will gradually carry out vehicle static and dynamic debugging, as well as joint debugging and testing of power supply, track, signal and other systems, strictly ensuring safety and quality, and fully promoting project construction to ensure that the northern section achieves its initial operational goals on schedule.

Urumqi Metro Line 2 starts from Yan'an Road Station in the south and ends at Huashan Street Station in the north, with a total length of 19.35 kilometers, and is constructed in two sections: north and south. The northern section of the first phase is 13.94 kilometers long, all of which are underground lines with 10 stations, including 3 transfer stations. The total length of track laying is 32.57 kilometers, with 13 sets of turnouts and 21.57 kilometers of evacuation platforms.
