According to the plan, this railway with a total length of 164.705 kilometers will achieve the functional positioning of both passenger and freight transportation, with a focus on cargo. Among them, the speed of the newly relocated section of Guangyuan urban area will be increased to 120 kilometers per hour, and 141 new bridges and 84 tunnels will be built along the entire line. The bridge tunnel ratio is extremely high, and the engineering difficulty and scale are unprecedented. The Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission has made a clear statement, striving to meet the conditions for starting construction within the year.
