The "Junwang" ship is a new generation of ultra large oil tanker product independently developed and designed by Dalian Shipbuilding. It has a length of about 333 meters, a width of 60 meters, a deck area of over 18000 square meters, a depth of 30 meters, and a height of nearly 20 floors from the bottom to the cab. The total coating area exceeds 540000 square meters, equivalent to the area of 76 standard football fields, making it a true "giant".

According to Bi Hongkun, the project manager of CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding, the ship has applied optimized hull lines, innovatively adopted a 6-cylinder main engine, and the propeller matching is more reasonable; The vessel has good port and waterway applicability, and can carry over 2 million barrels of crude oil freely through the Strait of Malacca at a designed draft of 20.5 meters.

Based on the characteristics of the profile, the project team has completed the integrated design of high-efficiency propellers, energy-saving devices in front of the propeller, and vortex dissipating fins in a targeted manner. The comprehensive energy-saving effect and environmental protection level have been significantly improved, and the performance indicators have reached world-class level. In addition, the ship adheres to the design concept of "green, environmentally friendly, and energy-saving", and is equipped with exhaust gas desulfurization devices. The ship's pollutant nitrogen oxide emissions meet the highest requirements of international conventions (Tier III) and the most advanced energy efficiency design index (EEDI Phase III) requirements, which can save about 35 million yuan in fuel costs annually.

Bi Hongkun stated that the successful delivery of the ship further enhances China's global competitiveness in the field of ultra large oil tanker construction. Currently, China's ultra large oil tanker technology is constantly iterating, and in the future, new green fuels and third-generation sail technology will be adopted to meet the latest international environmental requirements.Editor/Yang Meiling
