In Qingdao, Shandong Province, China's first research project for direct hydrogen production from seawater in a factory with a capacity of 100 kilowatts has successfully solved the global problem of high impurities and strong corrosiveness in seawater after more than a year of research and development, and opened up a new route for hydrogen production without desalination of seawater. Experts point out that the key to direct hydrogen production from seawater lies not only in production, but also in stability. By relying on independently developed new electrode materials and anti-corrosion technology, the related devices can achieve long-term stable operation and synchronously improve hydrogen production efficiency.

Data shows that the total annual production and consumption of hydrogen energy in China has exceeded 36.5 million tons, accounting for 36.6% of the global total production. With continuous technological breakthroughs, the application scenarios of hydrogen energy continue to expand, gradually integrating into people's daily lives from core fields such as industry and transportation.
If the hydrogen energy industry is an important focus of energy transformation at the current stage, then controllable nuclear fusion is the ultimate solution for human future energy. To achieve controllable nuclear fusion, it is necessary to achieve long-term stable confinement of the plasma at temperatures exceeding billions of degrees Celsius. In Hefei Future Science City, the installation of the main unit of the superconducting tokamak device for the combustion plasma experiment is accelerating.

At present, the commercialization of controllable nuclear fusion is accelerating globally, and China has established a full chain innovation system covering basic research, key technology breakthroughs, and engineering verification. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, with the continuous deepening of core technology research and development, China's controllable nuclear fusion will gradually open up the development channel from experimental reactors, demonstration reactors to commercial reactors.
