In the infrastructure boom on the East African plateau, China's steel structure strength has once again fallen behind as a key player. Recently, JINGGONG Steel Building has successfully won the New Bugesera International Airport steel structure project, with a heavyweight order of over 10000 tons, strengthening the steel backbone of this future East African aviation hub.

This project is another major breakthrough of JINGGONG STEEL BUILDING in the African market, and also the specific practice of the company in responding to the national the Belt and Road initiative and deepening international production capacity cooperation.

The New Bugesera International Airport (NBIA) in Rwanda is a core infrastructure project aimed at replacing the old capital airport, building an East African aviation hub, and supporting the country's long-term development strategy. With a total investment of approximately $2 billion, it is the largest public infrastructure project in Rwanda to date.

The project is located 40 kilometers south of the capital Kigali, covering an area of 2500 hectares. The core facilities of the project include a 3750 meter long runway, a 120000 square meter passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, a helicopter landing pad, and a 14 kilometer highway connecting Kigali. The project is designed with a "green airport" as its core, integrated with a solar power supply system, aiming for net zero emissions and practicing the concept of sustainable development.

After completion, it is expected that the annual passenger throughput will reach 14 million by 2032, which will strongly support the growth of Rwanda's tourism industry (accounting for about 15% of GDP) and agricultural export industry. Key words: the Belt and Road, airport construction
