China's SANY Group plans to leverage the power of its Sany International (Singapore) and collaborate with local Romanian partners to jointly build the largest hybrid energy project in Europe, with a total investment of slightly over 1 billion euros.

Project composition

This project mainly consists of four core components:

Among them, two photovoltaic parks are located in Uivar commune, which borders Serbia in Timi ș county; The energy storage system and data center are planned to be located in the nearby Timi ș oara, the largest city in western Romania and situated along a European data highway leading to Frankfurt.

Photovoltaic scale sets EU record

The installed capacity of each of these two photovoltaic parks reaches 800 megawatts, and even if one is built separately, it will currently be the largest photovoltaic project in the European Union. However, there is currently a larger scale photovoltaic project in Romania that is in a mature stage of steady progress.

Background of cooperation and local partners

This cooperation is based on the existing cooperation between SANY Group and Muguel Surup ă ceanu. Both parties have previously jointly launched a "photovoltaic+energy storage" integrated project in Dolj county. Sany International (Singapore) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Danube Solar Seven, a subsidiary of Surupachanu, who will be responsible for the full implementation of the Timis SANY project until it reaches COD. Mugurel Surupachanu served as a member of the Romanian Parliament and the county mayor of Gorj County. He had previously sold a photovoltaic project with a total installed capacity of over 108 megawatts to the Lithuanian asset management company INVL.

Comprehensive involvement in equipment and financing

SANY Group will provide core equipment support for the project, including solar panels produced at its Hunan province factory - the first photovoltaic module production line in China to achieve full process robot production. Meanwhile, SANY Group will also be responsible for the financing of the project. Keywords: Romania SANY Group、 Energy Storage System

SANY Group is a private comprehensive industrial group specializing in the manufacturing of heavy machinery and equipment, and is also one of the world's major onshore wind turbine manufacturers. In Serbia, ANY Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of SANY Group, has successfully laid out two wind farm projects, Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2. It is worth noting that in recent years, two other large-scale hybrid energy projects have emerged in the same area along the border between Romania and Serbia.Editor/Gong Ziwei
